Founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti, the Azienda Agricola Poliziano has become a pillar of Tuscan viticulture. The estate pays homage to Angelo Poliziano, a local humanist poet, while combining traditional expertise with modern precision.

Plots & Terroir

With over 170 hectares cultivated around Montepulciano, Poliziano relies on exceptional terroirs: Asinone, Caggiole, Valiano, Gracciano, with well-exposed clay-limestone soils. The Asinone vineyard (14 ha), located between 300 and 350 meters, is the birthplace of the prestigious Vino Nobile “Asinone”, a wine of place with remarkable depth.

Grapes & Viticulture

The Prugnolo Gentile (local clone of Sangiovese) reigns supreme, supported by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Colorino for the IGT blends. The estate focuses on sustainable viticulture: manual harvesting, low yields, respect for the soil, and expression of the terroir.

Vinification & Aging

Under the direction of Federico Carletti, the founder's son, Poliziano combines technical rigor with Tuscan soul. The wines ferment in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, before aging in French oak barrels and casks, tailored to each blend.

Iconic Wines

The estate shines with its Vino Nobile “Asinone”, followed by the refined Vino Nobile “Le Caggiole”, Rosso di Montepulciano, Le Stanze (Cabernet-Merlot in the manner of Super Tuscans), and In Violas, Merlot from the soils of Valiano.

Heritage & Recognition

An essential reference of the appellation, Poliziano embodies the balance between power, finesse, and aging potential. Still in the hands of the family, the estate is led by Federico Carletti, soon to be joined by his son Francesco Carletti.
