A house at the crossroads of two cultures
Founded in the late 1980s by Swiss banker André Ziltener, this unique house has established itself as a discreet yet demanding address on the Côte de Nuits. Located in Chambolle-Musigny, in a beautifully restored 18th-century former coaching inn, the estate combines the elegance of the Burgundian style and Swiss precision.
Under the current direction of Nicole Ziltener, the founder's daughter, the house continues a spirit of craftsmanship, confidentiality, with a range of wines vinified in absolute respect for the terroirs.
Prestigious terroirs at the heart of the Côte de Nuits
The Domaine André Ziltener vinifies wines from the finest climates of Burgundy, including:
Chambolle-Musigny
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru
Vosne-Romanée
Nuits-Saint-Georges
Gevrey-Chambertin
The approach is resolutely plot-based: each cuvée is the pure expression of its terroir, without blending between villages or climates. The grapes come from partner winemakers selected with rigor and supported in a constant qualitative approach.
A philosophy of elegance and authenticity
The estate cultivates a classic vision of Burgundy: priority to balance, finesse, and mineral drive, far from stylistic effects or over-ripeness. Pinot Noir is treated with great delicacy, without excessive extraction, to allow the subtle character of the limestone soils and the natural elegance of the appellations to express themselves.
A sober and respectful vinification
Manual harvesting, rigorous sorting at the plot
Partial or total destemming depending on the vintage
Long fermentations in open vats, with gentle punching down
Aging for 12 to 18 months in Burgundian barrels (up to 30% new barrels depending on the cuvées)
Light filtration or fining only if necessary
Each cuvée is individually monitored, with the aim of revealing the signature of the climate rather than that of the winemaker.
Iconic cuvées
Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes: all the floral finesse of the village, on a silky texture and delicately spiced fruit
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru: austere nobility, tannic structure, remarkable aging potential
Vosne-Romanée: aromatic depth, velvety mouthfeel, and subtly licorice finish
Gevrey-Chambertin: more earthy structure, black fruits, white pepper, energetic finish
