Located in Mambrilla de Castrejón, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, this family winery highlights one of the highest and most preserved sectors of the appellation. Luis Ángel Ortega, passionate winemaker and founder, embodies a new generation of producers committed to artisanal viticulture, respectful of the terroir and faithful to the region's king grape: Tinto Fino (Tempranillo).
Bodegas Mambrilla is committed to a resolutely qualitative approach: parcel-based, manual, minimally interventionist, with a deep attachment to old vines, biodiversity, and the pure expression of the fruit. The goal is clear: to produce elegant, deep wines, but without excessive wood or overripeness.
The vineyard extends over the heights of Mambrilla, at more than 850 meters above sea level, on clay-limestone soils mixed with gravel. These extreme conditions, with large thermal amplitudes, allow for the preservation of freshness, tension, and finesse in the wines.
The harvest is manual, the grapes are carefully sorted, then vinified in small vats. Fermentations use indigenous yeasts, and the aging is done sparingly, in French barrels, to emphasize the structure without masking the terroir.
Valderiz de Mambrilla Crianza: Pure, deep, and harmonious Tempranillo, the signature of the estate.
Valderiz de Mambrilla Reserva: More complex, a wine for aging, with integrated wood and noble texture.
Parcela Única (limited edition): Micro-cuvée from a selected old vine, rare and concentrated, produced only in great years.
