A wine that asserts its identity through Borie's expertise
Property of Marie-Christine Borie, under the aegis of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Borie), Château La Confession is technically supervised by Aurélien Troplong, production director, and orchestrated by oenologist Nicolas Audebert. Their ambition: to make each parcel of this exceptional vintage resonate.

Terroir & grape varieties: limestone expression of the plateau
The vineyard stretches over 15 ha of clay-limestone soils, typical of the Saint-Émilion plateau. The grape composition balances Merlot (~85%) for roundness, Cabernet Franc (~15%) for structure and finesse.

Viticulture & philosophy: precision, rigor, and sustainability
Sustainable management, careful soil work, manual harvesting sorted by parcel. Controlled yields to achieve refined concentration while limiting inputs to express the purity of the terroir.

Vinification & aging: softness, finesse, and balance
Micro-parcel vinification in temperature-controlled vats, long macerations of 3 to 4 weeks, with light pump-overs. Aging for 16 to 18 months in French barrels (≈ 50% new), for supple tannins, a silky texture, and a powerful saline finish.

Iconic cuvées
Château La Confession (Grand Vin): deep color, nose of black fruits, violet, spices, and graphite. Rich, supple palate, very long balance between density and tension.
La Petite Confession (second wine): more open and fruity, ready to drink young, while reflecting the typicity of the terroir.
