Domaine Santa Duc — The noble soul of Gigondas

Nestled beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine Santa Duc stands as one of Gigondas’ leading estates. A family domain since 1874, it rose to prominence under Yves Gras and is now led by his son Benjamin, who carries the legacy forward with passion and precision.

Rooted in prime parcels across Gigondas, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rasteau, and Cairanne, the estate is fully committed to biodynamic viticulture, meticulous vineyard work, and parcel-by-parcel vinification.

Philosophy and winemaking

Santa Duc embraces a low-intervention, terroir-driven approach. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermentations use native yeasts, and extractions are gentle to preserve balance and energy.

Wines are aged in large oak foudres, terracotta jars or amphorae, with minimal new wood — the goal is clarity, not opulence. Each wine is an honest translation of its origin.

Wine style

Santa Duc’s wines are deep, vibrant, and structured, showcasing Southern Rhône intensity with remarkable finesse. Gigondas wines are built on old-vine Grenache, delivering concentration with lift and minerality. Their Châteauneuf-du-Pape cuvées add layers of complexity and longevity.

Precision, freshness, and integrity define the house style.
