A House Founded by a Visionary Swiss
In 1837, Henri‑Marc de Venoge, originally from the canton of Vaud, founded the House in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, before moving it to Épernay. As early as 1838, he revolutionized the world of champagne with the first illustrated label, marking a spirit of innovation and aristocracy.
A Prestigious Symbol: the Cordon Bleu & the Cuvée des Princes
Adopted in 1851, the blue ribbon echoes the Order of the Holy Spirit. The first flagship cuvées (Cordon Bleu, Vin des Princes) embody the baroque elegance of the late 19th century, with bottles shaped like refined carafes.
An Exceptional Terroir and Range
Located on Avenue de Champagne, in the Hôtel Gallice – a UNESCO World Heritage site – the House sources its grapes from the noblest crus. It produces a whole range: Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, Cordon Bleu (Brut, Extra-Brut, Rosé), Vin des Princes, Louis XV, and Brut Millésimé.
Style: Noble Vinosity and Subtle Tension
De Venoge cultivates a balanced signature: aromatic richness, fine effervescence, and measured dosage. The prestige cuvées offer a broad, mineral texture with a long finish, blending finesse and intensity.
Philosophy: Prestige, Tradition & Modernity
Respect for ancestral methods (first cuvée, long maturations, low dosage), consistently high-quality wines, and refined wine tourism (hotel, bar, wine library spanning several millennia). A condensed history and nobility of the Champagne terroir.
