Frédéric Savart — Pure Finesse from Montagne de Reims
History & Terroir
Located in Écueil, on the Montagne de Reims, Frédéric Savart represents the third generation of a family of winegrowers. Since the late 1990s, he has elevated the estate to cult status, producing expressive and terroir-driven Champagnes from Premier Cru vineyards in Écueil and Villiers-aux-Noeuds.
Vineyard & Grape Varieties
The domaine covers around 4 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, with a majority of Pinot Noir and a small proportion of Chardonnay. The soils are mostly sandy and chalky, providing tension, minerality, and finesse to the wines.
Winemaking Philosophy
Savart practices low-intervention viticulture with great attention to the health of the vines and soils. In the cellar, fermentations take place in stainless steel, barrels, and concrete eggs. Malolactic fermentation is partially blocked depending on the cuvée. Dosage is kept very low or completely avoided to let the terroir shine.
Wine Style
Savart’s Champagnes are known for their clarity, vibrancy, and depth. Each cuvée expresses its origin with precision, showing fine bubbles, mineral tension, and elegant aromatic profiles. The wines are terroir-first, not style-driven.
