A Premier Grand Cru Classé A at the peak of its art

In the heart of the prestigious southern slope of Saint-Émilion, Château Pavie embodies the majestic power of an exceptional terroir and the ambitious vision of a man: Gérard Perse, owner since 1998. Thanks to a metamorphosis orchestrated with rigor and passion, Pavie has risen to the rank of the world's greatest wines, crowned Premier Grand Cru Classé A in 2012 (until 2021), alongside Angélus, Cheval Blanc, and Ausone.

An amphitheater terroir, a true geological gem

The 42 hectares of the estate extend over three natural terraces, on the slopes and the limestone plateau overlooking the medieval city. The soil combines asteriated limestone, deep clays, and ancient sands, offering perfect drainage and slow, even ripening. This unique diversity gives rise to wines of striking verticality, structured and deep, yet always balanced.

A powerful, sculptural, and infinitely distinguished style

Under the guidance of Pierre-Olivier Clouet (technical director) and the famous oenologist Michel Rolland, Château Pavie produces wines of remarkable intensity. The style is based on a great natural concentration, low yields, careful extraction, and long aging (up to 24 months) in new barrels. The result: a sumptuous texture, deep aromas of black fruits, licorice, truffle, and sweet spices, and an extraordinary length.

The emblematic cuvées

  • Château Pavie: The great wine, born on the finest terroirs of the estate. Ample, intense, vertical, with prodigious longevity.

  • Arômes de Pavie: The second wine of the estate, elegant and structured, revealing the Pavie style with more softness.

  • Esprit de Pavie: A more accessible wine, focused on fruit, from unclassified plots, but in the same spirit of precision.

A philosophy of uncompromising perfection

Since the arrival of Gérard Perse, everything has been rethought: increased planting density, precision viticulture, optical sorting, gravity-fed vat room, custom aging. Here, every detail counts. The goal is clear: to produce a wine that rivals the world's greatest icons, without ever betraying the identity of Saint-Émilion.
