Nuits St Georges "Clos de la Maréchale" 1982 - J. Faiveley
Nuits St Georges "Clos de la Maréchale" 1982- J. Faiveley, côte de Nuits
Clos de la Maréchale, at the time a monopole of Maison Faiveley, is located in Premeaux-Prissey, on the southernmost edge of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. This limestone-dominated terroir is renowned for producing some of the most refined and floral expressions of Pinot Noir in the region.
The 1982 vintage, often overshadowed by more acclaimed years like 1985 or 1990, nonetheless yielded round, early-drinking, and charming wines, which reached maturity relatively quickly.
Today, this wine reveals a beautiful array of tertiary aromas: black cherry compote, tea leaves, truffle, bark, and sweet spices. The palate is delicate and fully resolved, still lively, with a gently earthy finish.
