Located in the heart of the Tuscan hills, in the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano appellation, the Avignonesi estate embodies the essence of contemporary Italian elegance. Founded in the 14th century, it underwent a major transformation under the visionary leadership of Virginie Saverys, who acquired the estate in 2009 to make it a model of biodynamic viticulture and precision winemaking.

Terroir & philosophy

The 180 hectares of Avignonesi vineyards thrive on varied soils: red clays, sands, schists, and limestones, offering a great diversity of expression. The altitude and constant winds bring freshness and balance. Fully biodynamically certified since 2019, the estate places the life of the soil and the energy of living things at the heart of its approach.

Each Avignonesi wine aims to reveal the authentic identity of Sangiovese and other native grape varieties, with gentle vinifications, spontaneous fermentations, and respectful aging of the fruit.

Winemaking & style

The winemaking is entirely gravity-fed, without pumping, to preserve the integrity of the grape. Fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts, and aging takes place in large vats or French oak barrels of different ages. The style of the wines is sleek, refined, precise, always driven by freshness and drinkability, even in the most ambitious cuvées.

Iconic cuvées
