Chapelle-Chambertin 2010 - Pierre Damoy
2010 Domaine Pierre Damoy Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, Cote de Nuits, France
"The 2010 Chapelle-Chambertin is cool, dark and totally seductive. Sweet dark cherries, flowers and mint are some of the nuances that flow from this striking Chapelle. The wine is at once inward yet also soft and caressing. Layers of fruit build to the expressive finish. This is a fabulous showing. The 2010 Chapelle was aged in 80% new barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030. Once again I was thrilled with the wines I tasted with Pierre Damoy, a grower who doesn't get anywhere near the recognition he deserves. Yields were down dramatically, around 30-40%, just as they were throughout the region. (...)"
