Description
On the nose, the 2019 Mazoyères‑Chambertin opens with bright red fruits— cherry, raspberry—then evolves toward more complex notes of damp undergrowth, moss, leafy herb, and a fine earthy tone. As it breathes, subtle floral hints (violet) and mineral touches (wet stone, crushed chalk) emerge, offering tension.
On the palate, it shows medium‑to‑full body, with a core of vivid fruit balanced by clean acidity. Tannins are supple yet present, giving structure without harshness. There is a distinct mineral backbone and a saline finish that lingers, joined by spicy and earthy echoes as the wine evolves in the mouth.
