Clos de la Perrière: A Unique Terroir in Burgundy

The Clos de la Perrière is a prestigious vineyard located in the Vougeot appellation, in the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. This clos is a recognized lieu-dit for its Pinot Noir of great finesse and richness. Although smaller and less known than the famous Clos de Vougeot, this terroir offers elegant wines, often compared to the grand crus of the region.

Characteristics of Clos de la Perrière:

  • Area: Approximately 5 hectares.
  • Main grape variety: Pinot Noir.
  • Aging potential: 10 to 15 years, depending on the vintage.
  • Character of the wines: The wines of Clos de la Perrière are rich, with aromas of ripe red fruits, violet, and subtle notes of undergrowth and truffle as they age. They are distinguished by their silky structure and elegance.

The wines from this terroir benefit from the reputation of the Côte de Nuits and the expertise of local producers. As with other Vougeot wines, the choices of vinification and aging play a crucial role in the quality of the wines. The Clos de la Perrière is an aging wine, which reveals more and more complexity over the years.

Serving temperature: Between 16°C and 18°C, to appreciate the full richness of its aromatic bouquet.

Food and wine pairings: Ideal with grilled meats, dishes in sauce, or aged cheeses. The Clos de la Perrière pairs perfectly with game in sauce or duck breast with red fruits.
