It was in the 16th century that the maturation process of Madeira wine was discovered completely by chance.

Its manufacturing process involves undergoing fermentation, then an enrichment with alcohol and maturation at a temperature ranging from 40 to 50°C, for 3 months in a special cellar, the estufa.

The great Madeiras are the most robust wines in the world.
